Treg Cells and Reiki: Bridging Science and Energy Healing

Image
In a recent article, scientists have discovered that CD4 helper cells can become Treg cells, which help suppress the immune response. (Chen et al., 2025, pp. 230-239) Our human body is no doubt a magnificent machine that thrives on energy and has proven, under various circumstances, that its response to energy medicine, aka Reiki or any other energy modality, can lead to significant change. (Dyer et al., 2022, pp. 739-748) And now it can serve as a bridge to peripheral immune tolerance. (Shi & Chi, 2019) Our body naturally generates and maintains Tregs. (Owen et al., 2019, pp. 2031-2041) However, scientists can also artificially generate Tregs in the laboratory by exposing naïve T cells to specific signals. (Fantini et al., 2007, pp. 1789-1794) Those are often called induced Tregs (iTregs). (Alvarez-Salazar et al., 2020) And this is where things become therapeutically interesting. Researchers are investigating whether they can: For autoimmune disease/transplantation: Take or ...

Energy Healing for Humans

Energy and the Human Body: A Scientific Perspective The concept that humans possess intrinsic bioenergetic properties has been explored in numerous scientific and philosophical traditions. However, the mechanisms underlying these energetic phenomena remain the subject of ongoing research and debate. Why? Emerging research suggests that psychological stress and negative environmental factors can influence physiological processes, including immune function. Chronic exposure to such factors has been associated with increased susceptibility to illness and adverse health outcomes (Cohen et al., 2012). All of us can avoid the above scenario. How? Several traditional medicine systems propose that living organisms exhibit flows of bioenergy (e.g., qi, prana, or biofield energy), which are hypothesized to affect health and well-being (Rubik et al., 2015). While these models are widely referenced in complementary and alternative medicine, empirical validation of such energy flows remains limit...
